Career
• Elected member of the Washington House of Representatives from the 15th District (2003-2009) and U.S. House of Representatives from Washington’s 4th District (2015)
• Elected and served as Director of the Washington State Department of Agriculture (2009-2013)
• Supports increasing military aid to Ukraine, increasing defense spending, and the overturning of Roe v. Wade; does not support forgiving student loans, requiring government ID to vote at the polls, and gun-control legislation

• Owns a 600 acre farm in Sunnyside that produces a variety of produce
• First wife Carol died of cancer in 2017; remarried to his second wife Joan Galvin in 2018 at the United States Capitol
• Parents and all his siblings also graduated from Washington State University
